I've always been interested in astronomy. The hard part of peering thorough a telescope is to have others appreciate what you see. Also, I have a rotten memory. So, what I saw last night may already be forgotten. But a picture lasts for ever. Here are some of my pictures. Remember, I am still very new to this and I have much to learn. The Andromeda Galaxy
This was my first picture. I didn't get the galaxy well defined, but you get the idea. This galaxy is heading straight for us and will collide with the Milky Way! Jupiter and its Moons
This is Jupiter, badly overexposed, showing some of the moons that surround it. It has 63 moons in all. Mountains on the Moon
A Line of Craters
A Wider View of the Moon
The Great Orion Nebula
This was also one of my first pics. The Nebula is visible but not as clear as I'd like. |
My equipment that I use are: Meade 2080 Refractor: a 3.25 (80 mm) Meade LXD75 SN8 AT reflector: An 8" (203 mm) Smidt Newtonian reflector Meade Lunar Planetary Imager: that connects to my laptop for taking pictures. Meade Deep Space Imager: for deep space objects like Galaxies, Clusters, and Nebulas. Several different Astronomy programs (all but 1 is free) |
